Not often do you see Indian jewelry using married metals with 14K gold and sterling silver. Probably because it is difficult to marry (fuse) these metals together. This necklace from the 1940’s is wonderful! The chain has sterling silver beads with two large beads 1 ¼ inches long with a band of 14K gold married into the fine etching. The pendant features a Yahi Indian playing a flute and the sash on the dress and the flute are both accented in 14K gold. Beautiful carvings on this pendant yield wonderful detail.
The pendant measures 2 7/8 inches long and 1 5/8 inches wide. The chain is 20 inches long.
Markings are “sterling” on the chain and “14K Sterling RT” on the pendant.
Weight is 2.50 ounces.
